Crispy, spicy chicken with sweet and spicy garlic sauce, topped with crunchy peanuts and fresh spring onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken breast, boneless, thinly sliced
  • 1.5 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1.5 tbsp salt
  • 0.75 tbsp chilli powder
  • 0.75 tbsp chilli flakes
  • 0.75 tbsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.75 cup cornflour
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.33 cup sriracha
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 cup tomato sauce
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 4.5 tbsp oil
  • 6 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 4 green chillies, sliced
  • 0.5 cup cashews (optional)
  • 1.5 tbsp sesame seeds
  • spring onions, to finish (optional)

Steps

  1. 1Mix the thinly sliced chicken breast with ginger garlic paste, salt, chilli powder, chilli flakes, black pepper, soy sauce, cornflour, and eggs. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. 2Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken until golden and crispy.
  3. 3In a separate pan, heat oil and cook chopped garlic cloves and sliced green chillies until aromatic.
  4. 4Add cashews (or peanuts) and sesame seeds to the pan and cook briefly.
  5. 5Combine soy sauce, sriracha, sugar, tomato sauce, black pepper, chilli powder, cornflour, and water in a bowl to create the sauce.
  6. 6Pour the sauce into the pan with the garlic, chilies, nuts, and seeds. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens.
  7. 7Toss the crispy fried chicken into the thickened sauce.
  8. 8Finish by garnishing with fresh spring onions before serving.
