Restaurant-style Dragon Chicken

Crispy fried chicken strips in a sweet and spicy sauce, served with garlic rice for an Indo-Chinese favorite.
Ingredients
- 250 g chicken, boneless, cut into thin strips
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp maida
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp red chili sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 0.5 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp oil
- 6 garlic
- 2 dry red chilies
- 1 onion
- 1 capsicum
- spring onions, for garnish
- sesame seeds, for garnish
Steps
- 1Marinate 250g chicken thin strips with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp black pepper, 2 tbsp cornflour, 2 tbsp maida, and 1 egg
- 2Rest the marinated chicken for 15-20 minutes
- 3Deep fry the marinated chicken till golden and crispy
- 4In a bowl mix sauce: 2 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp red chili sauce, 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 tsp vinegar, ½ tsp chili flakes, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tbsp honey, 1 tsp cornflour + 2 tbsp water
- 5In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil
- 6Add 5-6 garlic cloves and 2 dry red chilies to the hot oil
- 7Add 1 onion and 1 capsicum and stir fry on high flame
- 8Pour the prepared sauce and let it bubble
- 9Add the fried chicken and toss well
- 10Cook for 1-2 minutes till glossy
- 11Finish with spring onions and sesame seeds
