Kung Pao Chicken

Ingredients
- 500 g chicken, boneless
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 4 tbsp cornflour
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp garlic, chopped
- ginger, julienne cut
- 1 onion
- roasted peanuts
- 6 red chillies
- 2 green chillies
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 0.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 0.5 tsp chicken powder
- 0.5 cup water
- pinch brown sugar
Steps
- 1In a bowl, marinate the chicken with salt, black pepper, cornflour, and egg.
- 2Fry the marinated chicken in oil until golden brown. Set aside.
- 3In another pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium-high heat.
- 4Add the chopped garlic and julienne cut ginger, and sauté for less than a minute until fragrant.
- 5Add sliced onion, roasted peanuts, and both types of chilies. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- 6Mix soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken powder, cornflour, water, and a pinch of brown sugar in a bowl to make the sauce.
- 7Add the fried chicken to the pan with vegetables, then pour over the prepared sauce.
- 8Cook everything together for 2-3 minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the chicken well.
- 9Serve hot.
